Terms of sale

1. Seller

2. Product

Digital content (PDF). Four products are sold: the practice kit (a 1:25,000 topographic map with an MGRS grid, tasks, answers and a map symbols sheet; if several versions are ordered, the files come as one ZIP archive), the team game (cards for the points, a map and a game sheet for each team, an organiser’s map, answers and a map symbols sheet), the blank map (a map with a grid and a map symbols sheet, without points) and the compass lesson (a 4-sheet training guide, no place needed). The website also lets you make a family action plan free of charge: the plan and its PDF file are created in the user’s browser (see section 10). The buyer chooses the number of points and the route length when ordering; a compass lesson can be added to any product with a map. If the scale of the printed sheet is inaccurate, the buyer can get a file adjusted to their printer free of charge on the order page, up to 3 times. No physical goods are shipped.

3. Price and payment

The price is shown in euros before payment. Payment is made through Paysera: by online banking or a Paysera account. Bank details are not passed to the seller. An invoice is issued after payment; if it is needed for a company or organisation, the buyer enters its details when ordering.

4. Delivery

After payment the file is usually ready within a few minutes. The download link is shown on the order page and sent by email. The link is valid for 7 days and allows the file to be downloaded 5 times. If the file cannot be prepared automatically, the seller provides it within 24 hours. Together with the link, the buyer receives an order confirmation by email and these terms as a PDF.

5. Right of withdrawal

Before paying, the buyer expressly agrees that the digital content be provided straight away and confirms that they know they then lose the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days (Civil Code of the Republic of Lithuania, Article 6.228¹⁰(1)(13)). While the file has not yet been provided (e.g. because of a fault), the buyer may withdraw from the contract on the order page by clicking “Withdraw from the contract here” or by writing to info@landnav.eu; the money is then refunded within 14 days. This does not limit the buyer’s rights set out in section 6.

6. Content not provided or not conforming, and refunds

The seller is responsible for providing the digital content and for its conformity with the contract, as laid down in the Civil Code of the Republic of Lithuania and Directive (EU) 2019/770 of the European Parliament and of the Council on contracts for the supply of digital content. Therefore:

• File not provided. If, because of a system fault, the file is not provided within 24 hours of payment, the buyer may choose to wait until we provide it or to demand a full refund.
• File broken or not as described. If the file does not open, is broken or materially differs from the description (e.g. the wrong area, missing sheets or answers), we will provide a proper file free of charge within 3 working days of being contacted. If this is impossible or fails, we will refund the full amount paid.
• How refunds are made. Money is refunded using the same payment method, no later than 14 days after the decision to refund. Once refunded, the download link stops working.
• When no refund is given. When the content has been provided and matches the description, e.g. the buyer changed their mind, a point on the ground cannot be reached (this is pointed out before purchase) or the print scale is inaccurate (it can be corrected free of charge on the order page).

7. Use and copyright

This is training material. The content created by LandNav — tasks, routes and points, answers, texts, the compass lesson, diagrams and sheet layout — is protected by copyright, all rights reserved. The files are for the buyer’s personal use or for use with their own group (class, club, camp, family) for which they were ordered; LandNav content may not be distributed, published or resold. The kit sheets show the buyer’s email and order number; the family plan shows the order number.

These restrictions do not apply to the base map: it is used, and may continue to be used, under the open licence listed in section 9.

8. Team exercises

Team exercise points are chosen automatically. Before paying, the buyer confirms that they will check every point on the ground before the event: that it is reachable, safe and not on private or protected land. The organiser of the exercise is responsible for the participants’ safety during it.

The kit is training material for learning land navigation. Points are chosen automatically and may land on buildings, water, fenced or private land; the situation on the ground may differ from the map. When visiting an area, the buyer is responsible for their own safety and follows the rules for private property and protected areas.

10. Family action plan

What it is. The family action plan is a free tool that helps a family agree in advance who picks up which child, where the family meets and where the nearest shelters are if danger arises or communications fail. The user makes the plan themselves; if route calculation is turned on, routes, travel times and the nearest shelters are calculated automatically in their browser.

How it is made. The plan data (names, places, addresses, routes) are processed only on the user’s device and are not passed to LandNav. No sign-up or email address is needed. The plan data are written into the downloaded PDF file so that the plan can be updated on the “Update the plan” page by uploading that file. LandNav does not have the plan data, so if the PDF file and the browser draft are lost, the plan cannot be restored, but a new one can be made at any time.

Limitations. Travel times are approximate: they are calculated from open OpenStreetMap data and average speeds, without taking into account one-way streets, traffic lights, roadworks and real traffic. The list of shelters is taken from the official PAGD list and may change; before relying on the plan, the user should check that the shelter is accessible and marked. The plan is not an official civil protection document and does not replace instructions from state authorities: in an emergency, follow official information (LT72, LRT, 112).

Liability. LandNav is not liable for losses arising because the actual circumstances (traffic, road conditions, shelter accessibility) differed from those calculated, except where the law does not allow such liability to be limited (e.g. damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence).

11. Complaints and disputes

Send questions and complaints to info@landnav.eu. We reply within 14 days. If a dispute cannot be settled between us, the consumer may apply to the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority (Vilniaus g. 25, 01402 Vilnius, www.vvtat.lt), which handles consumer disputes out of court, or to a court in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Lithuania.
